EAT OUT HELP OUT Tuesday 11th August - 2 adults, 3 children - arrival around 2.30pm Hickory's Smokehouse Worcester We started somewhere else but we didn’t really fancy much on the menu so ended up walking to hickorys and with small children this was such a better idea. We were seated and all the staff were polite. It was quite busy, not sure how busy inside as we didn’t go in at all. They have a brilliant ship for children to play on and sanitiser on the fence to go in. Our table was quickly sanitised and laid up, they brought us some glasses and menus (we did have to ask for water but I think that was just because they were so busy). We ordered two Pepsi Max, which came pretty quickly and were lovely and refreshing We decided to order the burnt end brisket popcorn, corn dogs, chicken basket and the 3am Mac and cheese & a popcorn chicken for the children. The food came in a great time and the server was fun and chatty. I’ve been a couple of times but wasn’t overly fussed so wanted to go again as so many people on the group had said how good it was! It was all presented really well and we were eager to tuck in. We started with the brisket bites which were AMAZING, moist with a crunchy coating. Next the Corn dogs which were really tasty too, not overly sweet which was loads better than the ones I tried in America. The chicken basket was southern fried chicken, which was always very moist but not packed with flavour / spices and then the mac and cheese - YUM. They really do Mac and cheese well, I would love to know how they make it, the only thing that I personally think let it down was the chicken, it was just put in the middle of the Mac, I thought maybe it would be better as popcorn? So you could eat it with the macaroni. The salad was served in a colander and the slaw had horseradish in which I really like. Even the kids meal was served really well & it was tasty! The only downer on this meal was the server asked 3 times if we had finished, the first time we hadn’t even eaten half of our food. At one point gem took her little boy to the toilet and they presented me with the bill even though we were still eating. It was like they wanted us to leave, but didn’t explain that at the start when they gave us the table, there was few empty though so maybe not? Other than that, the lunch was amazing, packed full of flavour and it would make me want to go again. I love the huts too which is fab! We finally opted for a custard Icecream just to try it which was quite melted by the time it had got to the table which is a bit of a shame, but it was very hot. The bill came to £25.35 with £22.04 discount before the ice cream. A great place if you love ribs, smoked things and fantastic for the children too
